Cain's Book by Alexander Trocchi

I came across this book in a secondhand store in Bethel, CT. I'd never heard of it but it looked intriguing and Black Cat books are usually pretty good, so I gave it a try.

It's a fairly autobiographical novel by a Scottish beat writer about a heroin addict and writer who is living and working on a barge on the Hudson River in Manhattan. He goes to Sheridan Square to score dope, which is pretty amusing to me since I'm often in that neighborhood, and it is a far cry from squalid these days. I didn't find the novel to be all that compelling though.
